The old lanterns Tavern

Just a few kilometers from Požega, in the village of Turnić, there is a tavern and excursion site called The Old Lanterns. At the very entrance to the village, the flat Slavonian plain "drops" into a wooded and gentle valley, offering an almost surreal experience. In the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant, you'll momentarily forget all the worries of a hectic and stressful life and drift into the past.

The Požega region has always been rich in fish, a place where fishing was a way of life. It was this rural fishing, in which he participated as a young boy, that Petar Odvorčić and his family transformed into a second life. Recognizing that the Dubočanka and Brzoja streams at the foot of Papuk are natural spawning grounds for trout, they found ideal conditions here, in the sheltered and peaceful Turnić, for their new activity—the first private trout farm. Next to the fish farm, surrounded by fish-filled ponds, meadows, and groves, is a restaurant where, in addition to the indispensable offering of fresh trout from the farm, a completely forgotten, healthier part of this region's traditional cuisine has been revived—smoked fish grilled over an open fire, a dish that is a true discovery and delight for any gourmet.

The restaurant pays great attention to every detail, from the exquisite selection of food and drinks to the pleasant experience enhanced by the sounds of the tamburica, all to maximize the culinary enjoyment.
