Restaurant Arabela

Globočec Ludbreški is a settlement located just next to Ludbreg, a town of wonders and legends, the center of the world, and home to one of the oldest and largest Eucharistic shrines in Europe. However, Globočec also boasts its own unique attraction. Above the settlement, along the wine route, a 7.5-meter-high stone statue of St. Vincent was erected five years ago. As the protector of local winemakers, he holds a vine in his hand. With its eight-meter-high pedestal, this statue also serves as an attractive viewpoint offering a panoramic view of the entire Ludbreg region, Podravina, and even Hungary. Under the protection of St. Vincent, nestled among the vineyards, is the Arabela restaurant — a destination for those who enjoy traditional local dishes and fine wine.

For 25 years, the Kišić family’s restaurant has been serving traditional folk dishes, generous portions, and good wine. The restaurant was founded by Josip Kišić, and about ten years ago, a vineyard was planted, and wine production was launched. The wines served at the restaurant are produced locally, and along with five other establishments on the Ludbreg Wine Route, they offer a joint wine brand, "Poštenjak," a well-balanced blend of Graševina, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris. This green part of the Podravina region, rich in rivers like the Bednja, Plitvica, and Drava, has always been abundant in fish, which has been an essential part of the local diet. As a result, fish dishes are a staple at Arabela. One of the restaurant's specialties is the Drava catfish steak, wrapped in bacon.
