It is also an invitation to explore Croatia’s counties and their unique characteristics, enriched by an authentic experience of local cuisine. The hosts of the event are restaurants bearing the Flavours of Croatian Tradition standard, lovingly preparing traditional dishes based on old recipes, using local ingredients and contemporary culinary techniques.
This year, around one hundred restaurants from twelve counties have prepared a diverse selection of dishes in special three-course menus, priced between 15 and 30 euros. It is an ideal opportunity to experience the richness of Croatia’s culinary heritage and gastronomic pleasure.
The event, organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, is jointly implemented by the tourist boards of twelve counties. The official presentation was held at the iconic Zagreb restaurant Stari Puntijar.
Marcel Medak, President of the Council of the Flavours of Croatian Tradition project, highlighted the importance of the event for promoting Croatia’s dining culture, especially the traditional cuisine of local regions.
Zlatko Puntijar, host of the presentation, emphasized the importance of preserving old recipes and using local ingredients as essential values for safeguarding national identity.
Roman Fekeža, representative of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, presented the offer of about ten restaurants from Zagreb County, long-standing participants of the event.
