Hotel Varaždin

Kolodvorska Street has been connecting the center of Varaždin with the railway station for almost 130 years. It is adorned with numerous villas and bourgeois houses, its shaping beginning in 1886 with the construction of the railway station and the opening of the Zagorje railway from Zagreb via Zaprešić and Zabok to Varaždin and further towards Čakovec. According to old railway traffic records, it was undoubtedly the busiest city street for almost a century. Shortly after the opening of the railway, opposite the station, Ivan Grošanić and his son built Kolodvorska Restauracija, an inn and hotel. Affectionately known as "Kod Grošanića" by the locals until its closure about twenty years ago, it was renowned for its excellent cuisine. The restored building now houses Hotel Varaždin, whose culinary team preserves the preparation of dishes from the old menus of Restauracija Grošanić, traditional dishes of Varaždin bourgeois cuisine, alongside serving the finest wines from the Varaždin region.

The restaurant features a rustic style and a distinctive interior enriched with details from Varaždin's rich history. It offers a rich gastronomic selection ranging from local dishes of Varaždin and Zagorje to international specialties.
